Spring is in the air, and it’s the perfect time to get out into nature and get moving. Winters Friends of the Library is hosting a free online talk about great local hiking trails for families on Wednesday, March 17 at 7 p.m.
Sarah Shin Madsen will share photos and talk about a few local spots that she has come to love. These hikes are all within a 30 minute drive of Winters and good for all ages and abilities, with something for everyone to enjoy. She will also go over some basic trail safety and basic equipment and supplies to keep on hand. There will be time for questions after her presentation.
Sarah has been exploring and hiking for most of her life. She is married with two teen boys who join her on the trail. She says that some of the most amazing conversations she’s ever had have been on hikes. Last year she accomplished a #52hikechallenge (one hike each week for a year), and this year she is embarking on a #52uniquehikechallenge (52 different hikes in a year).
This Zoom talk is the second in a new series, “WFoL Wednesdays,” which features virtual programs with a local focus on the third Wednesday of each month. Register below for this talk and our newsletter.
