Local favorites Los Tres de Winters perform in the historic Winters Opera House
Thursday, July 11, 7:00-8:30 pm
Winters Opera House, 13 Main Street (upstairs)
Once again the brutal heat wave has pushed our Thursday concert inside. Escape the predicted 111 degrees and enjoy the cool in the historic Winters Opera House!
Local favorites Los Tres de Winters will entertain us with Norteño-style music. This lively music, with accordion, bajo sexto, and bass, is a hybrid of Mexican and Spanish vocal traditions with waltzes and polkas brought to Mexico by Czech and German immigrants in the mid-nineteenth century. It evolved in the north of Mexico and is now a favorite style throughout Mexico and the U.S. Check them out on YouTube.
Come on out and enjoy a refreshing root beer float! The concerts are free, but donations will be gratefully accepted. Cold drinks, pizza, and tasty snacks will be for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Winters Community Library.
