The following special programs will be held during the month of April at Yolo County’s Winters Community Library, located at 708 Railroad Avenue in Winters:
• In-N-Out Burger’s Cover to Cover Library Reading Program, through April 14. Children between the ages of 4 and 12 are eligible to participate in this fun reading challenge and receive a free In-N-Out coupon. For additional details visit the library or call: (530) 795-4955.
• All Month Long: Library Bingo! Throughout the month of April, adults are invited to read, connect, and discover by playing Library Bingo. Free cards will be available in English and Spanish at any Yolo County Library branch and also online through the library’s website. After completing five consecutive squares in any direction (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal), return the card to the library to be entered in a drawing to receive a prize. The more cards you complete, the more chances you have of winning! Cards must be turned in by May 6.
• April 5: WWI Series Part 3: LEST WE FORGET – Over There, 6:00 p.m. Come learn the story of, and commemorate, all those from the Winters area who served, both at home and abroad, in the “War to End All Wars.”
• April 8 through April 14: National Library Week! Join us in celebration of the contributions of our nation’s libraries and to promote library use and support for all patrons.
• April 26: Local Author Talk with Hoang Chi Truong, 11:30 a.m. Join us for a Local Author Talk with Hoang Chi Truong. In her book, TigerFish: A Memoir of a South Vietnamese Colonel’s Daughter and her Coming of Age in America, Truong shares her experiences growing up in the war-torn country of Vietnam and becoming a refugee in America. Signing and sales available.
Dia de los Ninos Celebration at Winters Community Library 6:00 – 7:30 pm.
• April 28: Día de los Niños / Día de los Libros, 2:00 p.m. This is a free, multicultural program for the whole family featuring storytelling and a special performance. Participate in fun activities and receive a FREE book!

• Needle Arts: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 4:00 p.m.

• Family Story Time: Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
• Literary Trails: Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m.
• Hora de Cuentas/Bi-lingual Story Time: Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by First 5 Yolo.
• Aguas Frescas: Last Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
• Lego Block Party: 2nd Saturday of the month at 2:00 p.m.
• Family Movie: Last Saturday of the month at 2:00 p.m.
NOTICE: The Winters Community Library will only be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on April 2 for a non-instructional day and on April 30 for Lincoln’s holiday. On April 16 all Yolo County Library branches will only be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a staff development training.
