The Winters Friends of the Library are grateful!
We received 201 gifts totaling $37,305. The overwhelming response to our Big Day of Giving campaign was proof of how important the wooden play structure is to our community. We raised enough to rebuild the stage, which was our goal!
It was a true pleasure collaborating with Project Playground on this fundraising effort. We truly appreciate their vision and “can do” spirit. We have no doubts that they will be successful in the rest of their fundraising efforts. For the Big Day of Giving, they organized the Party in the Park and it was truly a fabulous community event. Stay tuned for more fun events and opportunities to be involved in the future.
For us at WFoL the thank you’s are numerous and very heartfelt.
We couldn’t have carried out this successful campaign without the support of the schools and PTA, the business community, and individuals who believe in WFoL and support our mission.
Thank you to the Winters Express for the wonderful coverage about the Winters Friends of the Library’s Big Day of Giving campaign and for printing our bookmarks. Thank you to Berryessa Gap for going over and above by not only helping to publicize our efforts, but also sponsoring a special event on May 4. And then donating 10% of your proceeds that night to boot! We’d also like to thank the City of Winters for publicizing our campaign and actively encouraging donations.
Our beautiful Shakespeare raffle basket contained goodies from our local businesses. Thank you to Capay Organic and Turkovich Family Wine for your donations.
Thank you to the many dedicated volunteers who pitch in for hours, days, months, or years to support and enrich our community.
And last, but not least, thank you to each and every person who donated on the Big Day. Donations ranged from $5 to $10,000, and each one was given with true gratitude for supporting WFoL’s mission to support literacy and cultural events in Winters. How lucky we are to have such a supportive community!
Although we dedicated the Big Day of Giving funds for 2017 to the stage at the park, we want everyone in the community to know that as we do every year, we have already allocated $25,000 in funding for the Winters Community Library as well as continue to fund our own WFoL initiated programs such as Books for Babies and the Winters Shakespeare Workshop. If you have not had the opportunity, please look around our website here at wfol.org to read about all of our programs and sign up for our email newsletter.
