The privilege we have in this country to borrow books from our public libraries is quite wonderful, really – it empowers all of us to keep on learning and exploring throughout our lives. – Elizabeth Taylor
This privilege is quite wonderful and one of the big reasons all of the volunteers of the Winters Friends of the Library dedicate their time to expanding library services and all realms of literacy that can help create opportunities for the members of our community.
Our newly elected board will meet tonight for our regular monthly board meeting, and for a Saturday morning retreat later this month to evaluate last year’s progress and plan this year. We will hammer out the details for programs, schedules, events, outreach, membership, Youth Day, Books for Babies, the Big Day of Giving, and the numerous ways we carry out our mission. We will send out a calendar in our newsletter later this month.
We are always looking to welcome new members and volunteers who would like to share their skills, energy, and creativity. There are so many ways to learn new skills as you make new friends and share your expertise.
Curious? Interested in finding out how you might join the fun? Email Linda Springer our volunteer coordinator at lsping42@gmail.com.
Looking forward to meeting you soon and continuing to learn and grow this year!
