Summer Reading = Summer Fun! And we are so lucky to work with our dedicated local library and county library staff to bring you these great programs. Each year we dedicate a portion of our annual WFoL budget and Big Dog dollars to supporting programs like these.
The following special programs will be held during the month of June at Yolo County’s Winters Community Library, located at 708 Railroad Avenue in Winters:
• June 6, 13, 20 and 27: Family Story Time, 10:30 a.m. A gentle and fun introduction to literacy for children ages 0-5 through stories, songs and finger-plays. Stay for play and social time after the program! Topics this month include oceans, dancing, opposites and picnics.
• June 9: Cristina Gonzalez’s ‘Farewell’ Bilingual Story Time and Party, 6:30 p.m. Come say goodbye to Cristina, a stellar champion of customer service, story time and outreach, as she begins her new journey with the Gibson Child Development Center! Join us for her final bilingual story time as she amazes, enthralls and educates children and families on early literacy and engagement.
• June 15: Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party, 2:00 p.m. Enjoy games, crafts, face painting and treats to celebrate the Summer Reading Program kickoff. A complete list of Summer Reading Programs is available at the Winters Community Library.
• June 22: Jon Lopez, Magician: 2:00 p.m. Experience a high-energy, 45 minute magic show designed to astound and amuse all audience members, including adults. This interactive show features comedic moments as well as truly amazing tricks.
