Celebrate new beginnings and the following programs held during the month of January at Yolo County’s Winters Community Library, located at 708 Railroad Avenue in Winters:
- Celebrate Lunar New Year!: Sweep away any ill-fortune from the past year and make way for incoming good luck. Check out our book display and bibliography.
- January 1-31: Winter Reading Program for Teens and Adults: Teen and adult readers are invited to participate in challenges, earn badges and prizes, and discover great books during the Winter Reading Program. Read a total of 10 hours in January and receive a free book. Adults who complete the challenge may choose to “Read Off Your Fines” and have up to $10 in overdue fines waived from their account in place of their finisher prize. To participate, register online with Beanstack at: yolocountylibrary.beanstack.org.
- January 9: Upcycle your 2019 Calendars, 6:00 p.m. Learn how to transform your old calendars into beautiful gift bags, envelopes, and more! Participants are welcome to bring their own calendars but it is not required. Calendars and other supplies will be provided.

- January 23: Aguas Frescas: Play with Clay Night, 6:00 p.m. Visit the library to create individual clay sculptures. Refreshing homemade Aguas Frescas will be available to help fuel your creativity.

NOTICES: Yolo County Library branches will be closed January 1 for New Year’s Day and on January 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On January 27 the branch will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Winters Community Library will be on the following School Break schedule until January 5:
- Monday and Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday 12:00 to 8:00 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday closed.
Extended hours resume Monday, January 6 as follows:
- Monday and Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
