Teens ages 13 to 19 are invited to sign up now for Winters Shakespeare Workshop (WSW), a five-week intensive acting camp open to all teens. WSW actors will create a complete production of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors with live music on the Winters City Park playground stage.
Actors will train from 6:30-9:30 p.m. five evenings a week, Sunday through Thursday, beginning on Sunday, June 16, in Winters City Park.
On Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20, actors will perform a complete production of The Comedy of Errors with a live band.
Production staff this year will include as Music Director, Robbin Buford, the new Intermediate and Middle School music teacher, who brings enthusiasm and experience.
Actors will also work with new Winters Resident, Maggie McGee Moralez, who will teach stage combat and design fight choreography.
Teens will bring Shakespeare’s text to life as they break out their performing skills, speaking, dancing, practicing physical comedy, and stage combat. The cost for this intensive performing workshop is $250. Scholarships are available for actors.
