Join us at our annual gathering to hear author Kris Calvin speak on the topic, “Lies, Politics and Creativity—Writing from the Heart When the World is Broken.”
Having spent years working as a child advocate in Sacramento, Ms. Calvin will talk about using real-life experience in politics to fuel fiction, and how working for social change for others and fostering individual creativity are linked.
Kris Calvin, a former local elected official and child advocate, has been honored by the California Assembly and Governor’s office. John Lescroart calls Kris’ writing “crisp and entertaining”. Catriona McPherson says “gasp-worthy twists” make Kris’ debut mystery thriller ONE MURDER MORE “totally satisfying”! Her debut novel was awarded the 2016 Silver Falchion national literary award in three categories: Best First Novel, Best Political Thriller and Best Female PI/Sleuth.
A single mom, when Kris isn’t in the halls of the capitol or writing you’ll find her with her kids cheering on their sports teams: the Warriors, SF Giants and 49ers!
