Triism at the Gazebo in Winters July 21
The Winters Friends of the Library summer concert series continues with a free outdoor performance by Triism on Thursday, July 21, 7:00–8:30 p.m. at the Rotary Park Gazebo, on Main Street at Railroad Avenue, in front of the Community Center in Winters.
The trio just returned from winning the grand prize at the Bucharest International Jazz Competition, part of EUROPAfest 2016, where they beat out 24 other semifinalists with musicians from 26 countries. Composed of Levi Saelua of Sacramento on saxophone, Alexander Reiff of Davis on bass and James Frink of Davis on drums, Triism plays creative arrangements of jazz standards, pop music and original compositions. They are even known to spice up the mix with some Bulgarian folk tunes. They report that their arrangements are collaborative and often develop out of conversations about politics, pop culture, science and comedy.
The performance is part of the Winters Friends of the Library summer concert series. This year the series will conclude with Los Tres de Winters playing norteño music on July 28.
Invite your friends and neighbors, bring a blanket or lawn chairs or sit on the grass, sip a cool drink, and enjoy some fine live music on a summer evening. The Friends of the Library will have delicious refreshments for sale, and all proceeds will support the Winters Library.
