The Winters Friends of the Library (WFOL) will be hosting our traditional Free Book Booth at the Youth Day Festival on April 25th at the downtown park beginning at Noon.
Our volunteers will have an assortment of books for all ages, from picture books to chapter books, with one available for each child that visits our booth. The books range in reading level from kindergarteners to 6th graders. WFoL has been providing books at Youth day for 10 years with around 200 or so provided each year, depending on our supply. All of these books are available thanks to the donations of our local community.
The Booth will have also have additional information about the WF0L programs, including our Books for Babies program, and we will also be providing merchandise for sale such as t-shirts, book bags and hats. Come on down, say hello and take home a book.
Our Youth Day Booth will also be an excellent opportunity to learn about WFOL’s Big Day of Giving Drive, which starts at midnight on May 5th, 2015. Each online donation made to WFoL that day will be eligible for a “boost” from a pool of matching funds, with 100% of the proceeds going to support the programs and operations of our Winters Community Library.
And check out the books that have been donated by local authors to make the act of giving back even sweeter. Read about the Literary Treasure Basket and how to win, here.
Help spread the news about supporting the library by snapping a photo or video explaining why you support the WFOL and the Big Day of Giving Drive, and posting them to on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtags #bigdog2015 and #wfol.
WFOL will also be proudly performing in the Youth Day Parade, proof that our library supports imagination and future possibilities for all of us—visit here for more details.
