Now in its 25th season, Winters Shakespeare Workshop is a five-week intensive acting camp for actors ages 13-19 and dancers ages 8-12. Participants work with a professional director, acting coaches, choreographer, and musicians to rehearse and perform a comedy by Shakespeare with a live band, singing, and dancing.
Actors will meet Sunday to Thursday evenings, June 15–July 19, 6:30-9:30 p.m. in Winters Community Park. Dancers will rehearse Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:00 pm, for the first four weeks, and then jump into the full rehearsal schedule in week five, when the live band and the dancers join the actors to shape the complete production.
On July 18 and 19 at 8:00 p.m., workshop participants will present a 90-minute production of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, with live music and dance, lights, costumes, make-up—and fun!—on the Winters Park Playground Stage. The whole community is invited to this free performance.
Fees are $300 for actors and $100 for dancers. Scholarships are available. For more information, call or text 530-204-7601, or email marylou.linvill@gmail.com.
