Sign up now for Winters Shakespeare Workshop (WSW), a five-week intensive acting camp for teen actors 13–19 years old and dancers ages 8–12. Workshop participants will create and present a free public production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with music and dance, for the Winters community.
Participating teen actors will meet Sunday–Thursday evenings, June 16–July 20, 6:30–9:30 PM, in Winters Community Park. They will work intensively with acting coaches, music director, choreographer, professional director, and each other on the Park Playground Stage.
Dancers will rehearse two days a week for the first four weeks, and then jump into the full rehearsal schedule in week five, when the live band and the dancers join the actors to shape the complete production. Performances will take place on Friday July 19 and Saturday July 20 at 8 PM on the Winters Park Playground Stage.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Winters Joint Unified School District, Winters Shakespeare Workshop will be FREE for all students in the district for 2024!
The fee for the workshop is $250 for actors or $100 for dancers. Scholarships are available. For more information, please call or text Mary Lou Linvill at (530) 204-7601 or email marylou.linvill@gmail.com.
