The following special programs will be held during the month of October at Yolo County’s Winters Community Library, located at 708 Railroad Avenue in Winters:
• October 14: Selena Literacy Night, 2:00 p.m. Join us as we pay tribute to Selena Quintanilla’s legacy through literacy. The program includes a lookalike contest, storytime, book walk, prizes, and beats by DJ Tutti V. All ages are welcome.
• October 26: Aguas Frescas Series: Paint Night, 6:00 p.m. Join us for an evening of aguas frescas (Mexican fruit waters) and painting. Materials will be provided.
• October 31: Halloween Party, 6:00 p.m. Come and enjoy fun games, face painting, and scary stories.
The following ongoing programs continue in October:
• SUCCESS: Afterschool Homework Help on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:00 p.m.
• Tales for Tails: Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m.
• Needle Arts: 1st & 3rd Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m.
• Libros y Chisme (Book Club in Spanish): 2nd Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.
• Family Story Time: Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
• Literary Trails: Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m.
• Hora de Cuentas/Bi-lingual Story Time: Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by First 5 Yolo.
• Lego Block Party: 2nd Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
• Family Movie: Last Saturday of the month at 2:00 p.m. All movies are ‘Family Friendly’ (rated G or PG). Call the library for the title at (530) 795-4955.
NOTICES: The Winters Community Library will be open on October 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. due to a Professional Development Day at the Winters High School. All Yolo County Library branches will only be open on October 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. due to an All Staff Meeting.
